The Cobra Instinct features an all-season compound molded into an asymmetric tread pattern to take advantage of the vehicle's natural body roll and weight distribution under different conditions to maximize performance. Layered over a lightweight construction to maximize responsiveness to driver input, engineers at Cooper have focused on iterating the Cobra Instinct's braking in all weather conditions over previous generations. When rain falls, four circumferential grooves work with sweeping tread elements alongside the inboard edge to evacuate water from the contact patch to fight hydroplaning. Multi-directional siping applied throughout the tread pattern provide the flexibility and biting edges to maintain traction in light snow as well as the wet roads left in the melt.
