The Potenza RE-71RS is Bridgestone's Extreme Performance Summer tire, tailored for sports cars, performance sedans, and passionate drivers who enjoy high-performance driving, track events, and endurance racing. This tire is engineered to deliver exceptional grip and precise handling on public roads while maintaining its performance during race-level conditions. As with all Extreme Performance Summer tires, the Potenza RE-71RS is not suitable for use, storage, or servicing in near-freezing temperatures or on snow and ice.
The tread design features a highly asymmetric pattern crafted from a race-inspired, high-grip polymer compound optimized for maximum dry traction. The carefully tuned footprint ensures even pressure distribution during intense cornering, maximizing surface contact while minimizing localized heat buildup, promoting even wear in competitive scenarios. Solid circumferential ribs enhance sharp and responsive steering, even at the handling limits. The wide outboard tread blocks include low-angle grooves that boost lateral rigidity, ensuring stable and predictable cornering. Strategically positioned circumferential grooves with beveled edges reinforce the inboard ribs during extreme cornering and maintain effective hydroplaning resistance.
Internally, the Potenza RE-71RS is built with a durable two-ply polyester casing designed to improve steering feedback and precision. Twin steel belts form a lightweight and strong foundation for the tread, complemented by a nylon reinforcement ply for enhanced high-speed performance.
Important: Potenza RE-71RS tires exposed to temperatures below 20°F (-7°C) must be allowed to gradually warm to at least 40°F (5°C) over a 24-hour period before any flexing occurs, such as inflation adjustments, mounting, or vehicle support and movement.
