The NT01 by Nitto is a track-capable street tire tailored for supercars, hot hatchbacks, and sports cars. It combines race-inspired technology with track-ready performance while maintaining street usability. Designed to meet D.O.T. standards, the NT01 offers a balanced combination of exceptional dry grip, consistent lap times, and extended tread life, catering to road racers and track day enthusiasts.
Featuring a specialized race compound, the NT01 sports an asymmetric tread pattern optimized for consistent grip, heat cycle performance, and heat resistance, ensuring superior handling in dry conditions. Its wide contact patch and large continuous tread blocks improve acceleration, braking, and cornering performance.
When new, the NT01 features a tread depth of 6/32" with two circumferential grooves and angled lateral grooves to improve wet traction. Reducing tread depth through shaving increases track contact, boosting dry traction. At approximately 4/32" tread depth, the lateral grooves begin to fade, leaving only two central circumferential grooves at 3/32" for maximum dry performance.
Internally, the NT01 is constructed with a 2-ply, high-modulus rayon casing and a high turn-up for enhanced stability during braking, cornering, and straight-line acceleration. Its belt package includes two wide steel belts and a nylon reinforcement cap ply to ensure durability at high speeds.
